Louboutin exhibition

I'm just back from a lovely weekend in London with my best friend. She lives there (the lucky thing!) so as this was my first trip since Christmas time the weekend was long overdue. One of the highlights of our adventure was a visit to the Christian Louboutin exhibition at the Design Museum. We'd booked the tickets ages ago and were really excited to go. And I think it's safe to say we were not disappointed!

Unfortunately you're not allowed to take any pics inside the exhibition so the only one I have is of this fab sign outside the museum. Trust me I could have got really snap happy in there, there were so many beautiful shoes to see.

With 20 years worth of shoes on display, from the totally lustworthy to the totally crazy there's lots to look at/drool over. There were shoes made from Guinness cans and a pair made from real fish! A stunning black patent pair with a Rolls Royce grill on the front particularly caught my eye.

A curtained off fetish area showcased some of his more "specialist" shoe styles. Definitely not made for standing in, never mind walking in, these daring designs aren't for the feint hearted!

A cinema room plays a loop of beautiful short films about Louboutin and some fun ones featuring the man himself. While in the main room there's a holographic video of the fabulous Dita Von Teese dancing, wearing a gorgeous pair of crystal embellished Loubies of course!!

All this and a breathtaking display of some of his most popular, most spectacular and most lustworthy shoes from the last 20 years means there really is lots to see. I'd definitely recommend a visit before the exhibition closes on the 9th of July.
